Rick and Negan could become allies after all in The Walking Dead season 8. This is if the showrunners of the AMC hit show stick to the storyline of its comics version.

The recently released TWD comics issue #164 featured Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) working together to survive the walkers. According to Digital Spy, the two are holed up alone in a house surrounded by walkers.

While in a tense situation, the psychopathic leader of the Saviors has a heart-to-heart talk with Rick, particularly about Glenn (Steven Yeun).

“Makes it really easy to bash a man’s brains in when you think it might save all his friends. Especially when you think the only way his friends can be tricked into living is if they’re made into slaves,” he said.

At the end of issue #164, Rick and Negan put their differences aside and work together to get out of the situation they are in. Could this happen on The Walking Dead season 8?

Fans have seen the small screen adaptation of The Walking Dead departing from its comics version. For one, Negan only beat Glenn to death in the comics but on TV, he killed both Glenn and Abraham (Michael Cudlitz). Abe was already dead in the comics when the dreaded line-up happened.

It remains to be see whether this moments translates to TV. After all, the dynamics between Rick and Negan at this point in season 7 is a bit more different from the source material.

The Walking Dead season 8 became official last October 2016 prior to the premiere of the seventh season. The next installment of TWD will include the show’s 100th episode. It premieres later in 2017.

The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 9 Error

The Walking Dead returned over the weekend from its winter break in an episode titled Rock in the Road.  It was positively received by fans. However, an imperfection in the episode did not pass the watchful eyes of TWD viewers as well.

Some Twitter and Reddit users pointed out the paper image behind the door of a house, Huffington Post reported. The scene was when the Hilltop residents told Rick, Maggie, and the other survivors that they are ready to fight Negan.

One Redditor offered an explanation for the fake interior, saying the inside sets are normally for controlled environments, lighting, cameras, etc like in any other shows. Watch the scene here.

Meanwhile, Huffington Post noted that actor Chandler Riggs (Carl Grimes) also seemed to confirm the paper house interior. Riggs commented on Reddit:

“Glad I wasn’t the only one that noticed.”

The Walking Dead season 7 airs every Sunday at 9 p.m. in AMC.
