The Voice season 12 premiere finally eased fans’ long wait. With a returning coach back on board, a lot of things happened in the opening episode of the season.

The premiere immediately went on Blind Auditions mode launching the four coaches’ quest to gather 48 hopefuls that will later compete for the Battle Rounds. Gwen Stefani’s return prompted yet another teasing from Adam Levine. Blake Shelton had little patience for Levine so Alicia Keys stepped in.

Fans will recall that Stefani and Shelton started out as co-coaches before they formed a relationship. However, despite the exchange among the coaches, the contestants for the night reigned supreme.

TVLine listed the performances that emerged better than others. Among those that made the source’s list are JChosen’s Sexual Healing, Mark Isaiah’ Mercy, Brennley Brown’s Stupid Boy and Anatalia Villaranda’s Runaway Baby.

By the end of the night, each coach earned two members for their team. Aside from JChosen, Stefani landed Stephanie Rice who sang Piece by Piece. Meanwhile, Shelton added Lauren Duski who sang You Were Meant for Me.

Levine also welcomed Johnny Hayes to Team Adam after his rendition of Try a Little Tenderness. The contestant also tried his luck last season. Finally, Felicia Temple joined Villaranda on Team Alicia.

The Voice Season 12 Premiere Highlights

The season 12 premiere turned out to be a big night after two of the performances earned four-chair turns. JChosen and Anatalia Villaranda both gave it their all and impressed the coaches. Meanwhile, Lauren Duski and Felicia Temple came at a close second as each of them made three coaches turn their chairs.

Meanwhile, Mark Isaiah and Brennley Brown were also scene-stealers for the night. Isaiah mainly charmed the audience with his version of Shawn Mendes’ hit. For her part, Brown wowed the audiences and the coaches with her powerful performance of Stupid Boy–as well as her age.

The Voice Season 12 Episode 2

The second episode of the season continues the Blind Auditions. Unlike the offered sneak peek for the first episode, no promo materials exist for episode 2. Nevertheless, fans can expect that more members will be added to each team.

Fans can catch the second part of the premiere online through NBC’s official website. Meanwhile, TV viewers could catch The Voice season 12 premiere titled Blind Auditions Part 2 at 8 p.m. in NBC.
