The Vampire Diaries Season 8 will unfortunately be the last one in the series. Meanwhile, Ian Somerhalder made a touching gesture towards Paul Wesley, who plays the role of his onscreen brother in the show.
As the curtain is about the fall on the hit CW series, Ian Somerhalder just could not walk away without giving Paul Wesley a special gift to make their journey a memorable one. International Business Times reported that Somerhalder, who plays the character of Damon, gifted a beautiful portrait to Wesley to put up in the latter’s office.
Ian Somerhalder’s Farewell Gift to Paul Wesley
On Tuesday night, Somerhalder tweeted that he wanted to leave a little present in Wesley’s office so that his onscreen brother does not forget him. Wesley appeared to be touched by the gift. He responded to Somerhalder by tweeting “hung.” Meanwhile, Somerhalder seemed to be amused with Wesley’s tweet.
He was cheeky while responding as he tweeted, “Hung? You, me or the picture?” To this, Wesley replied that he has left the gift on the floor. It is natural for Somerhalder to feel nostalgic and he appeared emotional on social media while getting ready to bid adieu to the series after the conclusion of The Vampire Diaries Season 8.
According to another report from the same outlet, Somerhalder had shared a picture of his on Instagram on Tuesday. It looked as if he is giving some instructions to the crew members while directing his last episode before the series ends. Pierre, who is the camera operator, is also seen in the picture along with his child Rohan.
The picture also voiced his feelings about the time he spent on the set. Somerhalder wrote fondly about the show’s cast and crew. The actor mentioned, “We’ve all grown together on this set for 8 years, building new skills and realizing new talents/passions in ourselves and in one another. Wow. What a ride it’s been,”
