Showrunner Julie Plec teased about another Vampire Diaries spinoff in the works. No doubt, fans who caught last Friday’s finale noticed its reference of another story for Caroline (Candice King).

Julie Plec Talks About Vampire Diaries Spinoff

Julie Plec told The Hollywood Reporter about her plans for the Vampire Diaries spinoff. The showrunner also admits to the presence of several crossover elements pointing to the upcoming season of The Originals. However, she intends to take a break first before actively pursuing her ideas.

Hence, fans will have to wait awhile before it happens. Nonetheless, it appears Plec has a few ideas in mind when she returns to work.

“There’s a lot of different things floating around in my head and the first thing I’m going to do is not write and take a vacation. And then, when I come back on the other side of that, I’m going to go back to work.”

The CW president Mark Pedowitz also revealed plans for a second Vampire Diaries spinoff are still casual to date. At the same time, Pedowitz talked about the potential renewal of The Originals. The first Vampire Diaries spinoff premieres its fourth season on March 17. Pedowitz is hopeful about its chances to carry on after TVD ended.

The Originals Moment in The Vampire Diaries’ Finale

The Vampire Diaries’ finale teased more stories lie ahead for a number of its characters. Indeed, the letter and contribution of Klaus to Caroline and Alaric’s (Matthew Davis) venture bodes the makings of a crossover somewhere along the road. As it turns out, Alaric was responsible for telling Klaus about Caroline’s plans to put up a school in a crossover episode with The Originals.

Hence, it raises the opportunity for the Vampire Diaries spinoff to visit with some characters of the series. Indeed, Plec told TV Line Caroline would eventually find peace. At the same time, she would be able to carry on and help others who were struggling with their own supernatural problems. Hence, chances are Caroline would be around for centuries.
