The Vampire Diaries season 8 cast members Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev along with the actor’s wife, Nikki Reed, finally ended the rumored feud between the two women.
Somerhalder shared on Instagram on Tuesday a photo of himself with his wife, Reed, and his ex-girlfriend and TVD co-star, Dobrev. The image showed the three having a great time on a dinner. It proves that all of them are friends after all.
In his message, Somerhalder appealed to the feuding rumors and end TVD with respect and kindness. “Let’s stop spreading hate everyone, there’s already too much of that right now in our world. Join in on the love. Only love here- always has been always will be,” he wrote.
Reed posted the same image along with a lengthy message, in which she stressed how negative rumors can affect those involved. The Twilight alum added that they first thought ignoring the rumors would be the best way to deal with it. However, Reed said some took it as an opportunity to fill their silence with false stories.
Dobrev, on the other hand, shared another photo with the couple and wrote:
“Can’t believe how time flies. Farewell dinner with team Somereed! So good catching up with these goofballs. All [love].”
Rumors began circulating that there was a feud between Dobrev and the Somerhalders after the former left at The Vampire Diaries at the end of season 6 in 2015. Dobrev and Somerhalder dated for several years before breaking up in 2013, People magazine noted.
The actor then dated Reed. The two got engaged after six months of dating. They tied the knot in Topanga, California in April 2015.
The Vampire Diaries Season 8 Cast Nina Dobrev’s Return
The actress recently confirmed that she is coming back for the finale of TVD. However, it is still unclear if she will reprise her role as Elena Gilbert or will be playing another character disguising as Elena.
This is not the first return for the actress since her exit. Dobrev lent her voice for season 7 when Sybil lured Damon Salvatore (Somerhalder) in the Armory vault.
Executive producer Julie Plec revealed that Dobrev was given choices on how she would like to do the scene. She can personally record her voice or the TVD crew could use her voice from old scenes. Plec said at the time Dobrev chose to do the recording personally.
Catch The Vampire Diaries season 8 cast every Friday at 8 P.M. ET on The CW. Meanwhile, mark your calendar for the TVD finale on March 10.
