The Vampire Diaries season 8 cast members have been sharing their bittersweet goodbye messages as the show wrapped up filming on Thursday. Who gave the most emotional message?
The Vampire Diaries captivated the hearts of viewers when it premiered in 2009. It became an instant hit. Fans got thrilled and giggled at the Elena-Damon love story as well as at Elena and Stefan’s romance.
When show creators Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec announced the decision to end the series last year, many shed tears. However, many also saw it coming. The rating of The CW show continued to drop since Nina Dobrev left the show in 2015.
Now, the cast members have been posting their farewell messages which ranged from fun to serious and sentimental over the past days. Ian Somerhalder shared his goodbye after he finished his last day on the TVD set. He posted a photo of himself in front of his dressing room and captioned it:
“. . . I was the last to leave our stages early this morning, not a single crew member, not a sound. To the fans, thank you for it all we would have never been on this journey without you. To all who made this show possible – we did it. 8 years, wow. Thank you all. Love, Ian.”
Paul Wesley also shared a snapshot with his on-screen brother on Instagram. He captioned the photo:
“One last pic of the brothers in front of the Camaro. To the fans, thank you for being a part of this journey in our lives. We couldn’t have done it without you.”
Other The Vampire Diaries season 8 cast members and Plec also bid farewell to the fans of the show. There was also a photo of a cake showing Mystic Falls, the fictional town where the show is based.
