This is Us Milo Ventimiglia has no plans to replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. While everyone is eager to play the iconic character, Ventimiglia has apprehensions of stepping in.
The actor admitted that Jackman’s portrayal of the X-Men character is tough to follow. Ventimiglia was the voice behind Wolverine on the animated TV series of the same title.
In an interview with TV Guide, Ventimiglia was asked if he would ever consider wearing the mutant character’s claws on the big screen. He acknowledged that many actors would like to play the character but he is not eager to be on the list. The actor said:
“When you think about Wolverine and trying to do something different or better than Hugh Jackman, it kind of is tough to imagine stepping into those shoes.”
Jackman already confirmed that he is done playing the character and his current Wolverine movie, titled Logan, is his last. Logan has been widely praised by fans and critics. The movie already garnered $237 million in the worldwide box office since it premiered last week.
The actor also took to Twitter over the weekend to share a video of Wolverine fan art and thank his fans for their support. The actor has been portraying Wolverine since 2000.
This is Us Milo Ventimiglia Tips For Fans
Since the fans of the NBC hit drama have shed too many tears in the past 16 episodes of the show, Ventimiglia (Jack Pearson) shared an advice on how they could cope up with more emotional scenes this season.
His advice – get a puppy. Ventimiglia added viewers should not watch the show alone.
“Maybe get a puppy. A ‘support animal’ I think they call them nowadays. But it’s just an idea that, find a loved one — someone you care about — and hold them tight because the end of the season may hurt a little bit.”
The actor also revealed that despite the heavy drama in their episodes, their set is always in a lighter mood. Ventimiglia said he and his on-screen wife Mandy Moore (Rebecca Pearson) are always doing something new to keep the mood light especially for the kids playing their on-screen children.
This week in This is Us, the Pearsons will remember William (Ron Cephas Jones) in a tribute. Randall (Sterling K. Brown), Kevin (Justin Hartley), and Kate (Chrissy Metz) will be making big decisions about their future.
It seems like Kevin and Sophie (Alexandra Breckenridge) will rekindle their romance. Meanwhile, Jack will travel to Cleveland to be with Rebecca on the first night of her gig.
