Many Moore has warned viewers that the highly-anticipated This is Us finale is going to be a total tear-jerker.
The NBC hit drama breaks so many hearts every week. Viewers cried particularly in episode 16 when William (Ron Cephas Jones) died. But the cast and crew have confirmed that more emotional scenes are coming up in the conclusion of season 1.
According to Moore (Rebecca), fans will cry and get upset in the This is Us finale next week. The singer/actress told Variety:
“We’re going to destroy America by the end of the season. As if they don’t have enough to be upset about at this point in time anyway. But they’re going to be upset for a completely different set of reasons.”
Creator Dan Fogelman echoed Moore’s remark that the final scenes of the season will definitely hit the viewers hard. Fogelman added the finale is the darkest place they have ever been. He, however, assured that they still show hope and optimism at the end of the episode.
Fogelman also called the finale of the NBC critically-acclaimed drama as “incredibly ambitious” particularly on how it jumps between time periods. He said:
“There is a scene with Milo and Mandy that I have not seen on television. I think it’s going to rock people.”
Apparently, the season finale will feature Rebecca pursuing her singing career, which causes a strain on her marriage to Jack (Milo Ventimiglia). Jack, on the other hand, has been drinking again.

Justin Hartley (Kevin) teased that his character will take all the time necessary to win back his ex-wife Sophie (Alexandra Breckenridge). The actor also dropped some hints on Jack’s passing. He said Jack’s death is sudden and it will be very tragic.
Meanwhile, Ventimiglia assured fans that Jack will continue to appear on the show even after the character’s death later on. Fans have known that Jack will eventually die in the show. However, it seems like the cause of his death will not be revealed this season.
