TNT has great news to their avid followers! The network renewed one of the most-watched television series. Major Crimes season 6 will once again run for another 13 episodes.
Major Crimes Season 6
According to Deadline, TNT’s longest crime-drama has greenlit the show for another season. The network’s decision to pick up Major Crimes season 6 might not only be because it created a big impact to the channel but also it is one of the most-viewed series since its launch five years ago.
Furthermore, the renewal includes a 13-episode order from the network. This is not the first time that the series showed a short season. On its first chapter, Major Crimes only had a 10-episode run.
In contrast, The Closer had been having a 19 to 23 episodes in its second to the fifth season. Major Crimes is a spin-off of the aforementioned procedural.
However, the aforementioned site also noted that in the show’s last couple of seasons, it always started with longer episodes. Its 13-episode orders from the previous seasons had been expanded due to back orders.
On the other hand, in the released post from TNT (via Spoiler TV), it noted that Major Crimes recorded another hit this past summer. The show had an average viewer rate of 10 million per episode across the network’s “multiple platforms.”
In addition to its success, the series also “finished the third quarter ranking” as one of the top 10 dramas in cable. It has an average of 18 to 49-year-old viewers.
Despite being a spin-off, the show proved that it can still be a major kick-off for TV buffs. It’s 2012 launch ranked as cable’s no. 1 drama show and since then, it remained as one of the most popular and most-watched show on cable.
