It seems like the fans of The Walking Dead season 7 should be worried about the fate of their favorite characters. New reports claimed that the expensive characters could be killed off anytime in the story.
According to a report from Page Six, the stars of The Walking Dead season 7 are paid a pittance in comparison to other TV shows. Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reedus play the most important roles in the hit series. Reedus purportedly earns less than £100,000 which is about $124,000 an episode, while Lincoln is making just £74,000, which is about $92,000.
Norman Reedus and Andrew Lincoln Earning Less
Although the income is quite huge, the publication insisted that the actors are not making enough money. The cast of Gilmore Girls and The Big Bang Theory are earning more.
The actors of The Big Bang Theory earn over £18 million, which is about $22 million each in their most recent series. The stars of Gilmore Girls, Alexis Bledel and Lauren Graham earned just over £2 million, which is about $2.5 million per episode.
The publication also added that Uproxx looked in to the salary differences of the cast of TWD. The AMC show apparently could not pay all of the actors well, as it has a huge cast size.
The TV show has reportedly doubled the advertising revenue of AMC ever since 2010. Reports claim that the show earns lots of money from the advertisements.
“The Walking Dead can kill any cast member it wants at any time, meaning that rather than give in to the salary demands of the cast,” Uproxx shares. “Indeed, doing so will not only save the series money, but it may give the show a ratings boost.”
Some reports mentioned that Reedus and Lincoln will be receiving pay raises for the seventh and eight seasons of the hit TV show. Lincoln purportedly gets a raise, earning over £500,000 or $618,000 per episode while Reedus will receive £450,000 or $550,000.
In other news, Comicbook.com shared that there will be new relationships to blossom in the next part of the show. Michonne and King Ezekiel might form a relationship, even if she has been seen sleeping with Rick.
The report also suggests that Carol will be fighting together with the Kingdom, Alexandria and Hilltop to defeat Negan. Carol will eventually survive, but she will choose to leave the Hilltop.
The Walking Dead season 7 returns for the the next part on February 12 at 9 p.m. ET on the AMC network.
