The Walking Dead season 7 returned from its midseason break recently. Moreover, it offered a special opportunity for executive producer and director Greg Nicotero to share its return with his children.

Comic Book reports about the two very personal Easter eggs featured on the Rock in the Road episode. As it turns out, Nicotero’s son and daughter were among those children practicing archery as part of their training.

Apparently, his children Deven and Alyssa opted not to play the part of walkers since they did not want to wear the contact lenses. So, they became part of the backdrop in Ezekiel’s scene before he turned to talk to Rick and the rest.

The Walking Dead Season 7 Brings in a New Group

The Walking Dead season 7 episode 9 introduced a new group of survivors. Rick and his group met them as they headed back to the spot where the boat was as they searched for Father Gabriel, according to ABC.

Despite the guns to their heads, Rick ends up smiling. Early on, showrunner Scott Gimple teased fans they would get to see his incredible smile once again. This is in spite of the answer Ezekiel gave in response to his request to join forces against Negan and his Saviors. Sadly, the leader of the Kingdom thought it best to maintain his group’s peace with the Saviors albeit fragile rather than risk everything.

It remains uncertain if the new group will join them and the Hilltop in their fight against Negan. Nonetheless, Rick seems optimistic at the chance to enlist them to his cause against the Saviors.

The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 10 Spoilers

It would appear the new group would continue to play a big part in the The Walking Dead season 7 episode 10 titled New Best Friends. The synopsis reads:

“While searching for a missing Alexandrian, Rick and his group encounter a mysterious collective, its inhabitants unlike any they have come across.”

As revealed by the teaser, Rick and his group meet the new group who appear heavily armed and willing to fight. Rick wants to get them on his side as he encourages them to fight against the Saviors.

Meanwhile, the second teaser for the New Best Friends episode of The Walking Dead season 7 shows the Kingdom will have an encounter with some of Negan’s thugs, BGR writes.
