The Story of God is National Geographic’s most-watched series of all time. The show executively produced by Morgan Freeman will return in January 2017. The announcement was made by the network in a statement that also gave snippets of what will be tackled in each episode of The Story of God with Morgan Freeman Season 2.
The Emmy-nominated series will again be taking audiences around the world, this time in search of “interfaith understanding and connectivity through the lens of the world’s major religions, science, anthropology, and archaeology,” as reported on TVSeriesFinale.
The show will attempt to answer questions regarding the afterlife or what happens after people die. It will also tackle spiritual enlightenment and the prophets or chosen ones.
What Can Viewers Expect from Season 2?
The Story of God with Morgan Freeman Season 2 will bring audiences to the world’s most sacred places. Among these places are the Angkor Wat in Cambodia, the Devil’s Tower in Wyoming, the underwater caves in Mexico and the Golden Temple in India. There is also a place in Ethiopia where the true cross by Helena, mother of Roman Emperor Constantine, was discovered.
The episode titles for The Story of God with Morgan Freeman Season 2 are The Chosen One, Heaven and Hell and Proof of God. Meanwhile, those who would like to binge-watch The Story of God with Morgan Freeman Season 1 can still do so. Season 1 DVDs will be released on Jan. 10, 2016. Bonus features on the DVDs will include two web series created to support the show online and Q&As with Freeman and the others.
The show will air globally this spring on National Geographic channels in 171 countries and in 45 languages and in Spanish on Nat Geo MUNDO. The Story of God with Morgan Freeman premieres on National Geographic Channel on Jan. 16, 2017, Monday, at 9 pm ET/PT.
