The Girlfriend Experience season 2 will be having a new take on the series and it seems like the process is going to be a complete overhaul. The story introduces the life of high-priced call girls and their rich clients.

According to TV Line, season 2 will begin with new cast members and two parallel plot lines. This was announced last Thursday by Starz network. Aside from a different story and new cast, the series will also be splitting between two settings – first in Washington DC and second in New Mexico.

The Girlfriend Experience Season 2 Details

The second installment’s story in New Mexico will revolve around the life of Bria Jones (Carmen Ejogo). She went there to run away from a dangerous client. But later on she will eventually find out that she cannot easily escape the life she chose.

On the other hand, the story line in Washington DC focuses on the life of Anna Friel as Erica Myles. She is the Republican super PAC’s lesbian finance director who is involved with a prostitute portrayed by Louisa Krause.

Moreover, season 2 will be returning for 14 episodes. Showrunners Lodge Kerrigan and Amy Seimetz will team up in handling the two parallel stories. Kerrigan will be the one in charge in the DC scenes while the latter will handle the New Mexico ones.

Also, the Oscar-winning director Steven Soderbergh, who will recur as the show’s executive producer added, “It was always our intention to change the universe every season. But Amy and Lodge have cranked up the ambition, scope, and complexity of the show by creating two storylines even more provocative and confrontational than last year’s.”

Season 2 Spoilers

Deadline reported that Kerrigan’s story will also introduce the dark money on the upcoming midterm election in 2018. It emphasizes the corrupting influence that puts prices on everything.

Meanwhile, Seimetz’s story aims to redefine what The Girlfriend Experience season 2 really means. At this point, no further details exist for the upcoming season. More will be revealed once details are available.
