Avid viewers are patiently waiting for details regarding Stranger Things 2. Fans might be hoping that Barb will be alive but young star Millie Bobby Brown hints that the character is still dead.
The recent performance during the Golden Globe Awards gave Brown and her co-stars Caleb McLaughlin, Finn Wolfhard, and Gaten Matarazzo the opportunity to stun the fans. The young actors even rapped that Barb is still alive, before the audience saw Barb swimming in a pool.
However, Brown told People afterward that the character is really dead. “No, she’s not alive!” the young girl exclaimed.
While that might crush the hopes of the viewers, actor David Harbour, who plays Chief Jim Hopper told The Tonight Show (via Teen Vogue) that Stranger Things 2 will bring justice to her.
“The internet rage over Barb, like who knew? Shannon is amazing,” he said. “And the internet rage at Chief Hopper over not caring about Barb, I’m sorry. I have a little boy I have to save! There will be justice for Barb.”
Shannon Purser, who portrayed the role, barely appeared on the first season. However, she must have been one of the viewer’s favorite characters during season 1.
According to IB Times, Barb became favorite because of her traits. She is kind and had a caring attitude towards, Nancy- her best friend.
However, after two episodes, the Demogorgon captured and killed her. It might be a short time for the character, but as Harbour said, her friends would seek justice for her on Stranger Things 2 so viewers should find out how.
Stranger Things season 2 will be “bigger and darker”
In other news, director and executive producer Shawn Levy promises the audience that season 2 would be darker.
“The threat, which in Season 1 was to Will Byers, has grown. That’s all I’m going to say!,” quotes Vanity Fair. “But, I will say Season 2 has a bigger cast and is definitely loyal to the kind of magical storytelling that we established in the first season. It’s character-based and still about our core group of characters.”
