After five long weeks, the new episode of This is Us hits the small screens later. There were so many questions left about the events but actors Sterling Brown and Chrissy Metz are ready to give hints.
The fall finale, which happened on Dec. 6 showed Toby (Chris Sullivan) collapsed during Christmas Eve. The viewers may ask if he will be able to finally get out of the hospital after the sudden event.
For that, Brown, who plays the role of Randall shares a glimpse of what might happen on the next episode of This Is Us. The actor told Entertainment Weekly that the return of the NBC dramedy would feature many things.
What to expect from the next This Is Us episode
First, Brown said that the status of Toby is still unsure. “But the family definitely rallies to Kate’s side in the hopes that everything will work out in her favor,” he explained.
More than that, the viewers should expect that there will be more explanation about his biological father William (Ron Cephas Jones) and Jesse (Denis O’Hare) when the show returns. This might be a shocker to the fans, as well as the character that he portrays.
“We find Randall trying to come to terms with William’s newfound orientation,” says Brown. “It’s weird for him. It’s caught him off-guard, and he’s having a difficult time processing it.”
Meanwhile, fans might see if Randall will forgive his mother with regards to his biological father. On the other hand, This is Us would also explore the story of Kevin (Justin Hartley) and Sloane (Milana Vayntrub).
Aside from that, actress Chrissy Metz also shared some bits about the upcoming chapter. Us Weekly caught the actress while attending the recent Golden Globes Award on January 8.
As for the Pearson family, Metz said that her character as Kate will need to decide on what she really needs to do. The incident that brought Toby to the hospital must be a sign that she needs to do something important for her.
This Is Us returns to NBC Tuesday, January 10, at 10 p.m. ET.
