Sneaky Pete received the green light from Amazon for its second season. Indeed, this is good news for fans who love the show.
The series is one of the most streamed original titles for the service. It ranks second to The Man in the High Castle.
However, it was not always smooth sailing for the series. It began as a pilot on CBS but the network eventually passed on it in 2015. The move to Amazon proved to be favorable for the crime drama.
Meet the Sneaky Pete Cast
Sneaky Pete season 1 debuted last January 13 on Amazon, according to TVLine. The series features a con man played by Giovanni Ribisi, who takes on the identity of his cellmate once he gets out of prison. The rest of the Sneaky Pete cast includes Margo Martindale and Bryan Cranston.
Incidentally, Cranston shares creator credits with David Shore. The actor is also an executive producer of the series. Amazon Studios’ head of comedy and drama Joe Lewis praised Cranston and showrunner Graham Yost for their work.
“Bryan Cranston and Graham Yost have done a masterful job of steering the cast to fantastic performances. Both the critical response and our customers’ engagement with the series are key factors in our enthusiasm to bring our audience a second season of Sneaky Pete,” Lewis said in a statement.
Defining Moment for Sneaky Pete
A.V. Club reckons episode four might be the defining moment for the series. Previously, the series spent some time to set up Marius’ character. The story took a deeper turn with The Fury. Hence, it established the emotional anchor the series needed.
Indeed, the episode showed greater depth to the story’s characters. One of the key moments was the final monologue of Bryan Cranston. Hence, fans can likely look forward to greater drama in the next Sneaky Pete episodes.
It is highly possible that this trend will carry on to Sneaky Pete season 2. Thus, fans can look forward to more from the Amazon original series.
