Sherlock Season 4 Episode 1 entitled The Six Thatchers recently premiered. This has turned 221B Baker Street into its saddest moment fans have never seen before.
Sherlock Season 4 Episode 1 Recap
It turns out that rules do not apply to the one and only Sherlock Holmes. This was after the British Government let our ‘high functioning sociopath’ gets away with murder with the help of his elder brother, Mycroft. His entire case regarding the murder of Charles Augustus Magnussen in Season 3 was all wiped out.
The video evidence of the said incident was digitally tricked in order to let Sherlock go. Meanwhile, the highlight in the episode featured Sherlock’s retold of Babylonian folktale titled Appointment in Samarra. This is because the original story was hated by our famous detective (due to its tragic ending) since he was a child.
Meanwhile, the premiere episode involves two cases – first was about Margaret Thatcher and second pertains to a diplomat’s dead son. The latter was easily solved. And as the title suggests, the episode had much involvement to Thatcher.
A culprit went on smashing six Thatchers (statue) and Sherlock managed to track his moves. However, as he met the real identity of the suspect, viewers were surprised that there is more to this episode than they can think of. He met Ajay, a former comrade of Mary in her ‘assassin’ department.
Mary Watson’s Past
The episode revealed that they were both former members of a group called AGRA members’ data. This includes Mary.
Ajay was captured and tortured for years after an AGRA’s mission all went wrong. Apparently, Ajay was looking for the memory stick which contains their group’s information. He believes that Mary is a traitor.
As viewers have initially seen, John Watson’s wife was trying to live a new life. Unfortunately, she had to settle things with his former comrade before anything else. This quest led to Ajay’s death and revelations that Vivian Norbury was the one who jeopardized their AGRA operation from years ago. She was using the codename, Ammo.
As expected, Sherlock Holmes was well pleased with himself being the major person to uncover these things. Sadly, he did not saw Mary’s death coming. This also resulted to a rift between him and John. Furthermore, fans will soon find out what is going to happen next when Sherlock Season 4 returns on Jan. 8, 2017.
