Korean reality show Running Man from SBS was supposedly cancelled from the network but its director, Nam Seung Yong, revealed something interesting. Nam, who is also the creator of the show, revealed that the show was not cancelled due to Kim Jong Kook’s efforts.
According to Koreaboo, SBS network initially announced the cancellation of the show. They stated that it would only air until February 2017. This announcement came after a massive issue between producers Kim Jong Kook and Song Ji Hyo.
However, almost a month after releasing the sad news, the show revealed that they will continue with all six members. It was a unanimous decision from all of them.
Details about Not Cancelling Running Man
The director shared that Jong Kook convinced the members to keep the show going. Director Nam first came to him and asked if they can be together until the end. After a deep thought, the 40-year-old singer accepted the offer.
From there, he discussed the matter to all the members. They have been together for a long time and it is not much of a surprise that the result turned out well. The earlier source mentioned:
“Kim Jong Kook and Song Ji Hyo were deeply hurt. The reason they made such a big decision despite this fact is that they wanted to repay the love of fans all over the world. They will continue to record for the show and carry out their Asian Tour without much trouble.”
In the end, the show really had a decision that made their fans happy. Unfortunately, Gary who is known by his Korean name Kang Hee-gun was firm on his decision to leave the show. Kang wants to focus on his music as a rapper.
