It has been 20 years since the TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer has hit the small screen. From 1997 to 2003, the WB Television Network series has captured teenager fans for its story.
Sarah Michelle Gellar thumbs up on Buffy the Vampire Slayer revival?
Many have even called for a Buffy the Vampire Slayer revival, even when its lead star Sarah Michelle Gellar has already gone past the teenage years. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the 39-year-old actress talked about her character.
Gellar revealed her past experience in playing the role of Buffy Summers. The actress said, “The most formidable years of my life — transition from teenager to adult — were spent filming Buffy.”
“I learned every day from the experience and from her.”
Sarah Michelle Gellar also told that she learned how it is okay not to be perfect and that everything is attainable through hard work. She also added that the series has done a good job in shedding light on teens dealing with many things all at once. There was a family drama, falling in love, bullying, racism, death, and college.
Does she think Buffy the Vampire Slayer revival could be possible?
“I am not sure how that translates into adulthood, although I am sure it could,” she said. “The burden of saving the world a lot always weighed heavily on her. So for her sake, I hope she is somewhere on a beautiful beach located far away from any Hellmouth.”
Buffy the Vampire Slayer revival still unconfirmed
Despite the fact that Buffy the Vampire Slayer ended in 2003, it fans still got to continue the story of Buffy through comics. Dark Horse Comic published Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 8, 9 and 10. Buffy the Vampire Slayer also had a spinoff entitled Angel & Faith in 2007, Comicbook said.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer season 11 is set to be released this year.
