Priyanka Chopra’s series is set to return on its new time slot. Based on the latest Quantico season 2 episode 9 promo, Alex will get closer to Harry and Owen Hall.
In the Farm flashback, Alex Parrish (Chopra) will team up with Harry Doyle (Russell Tovey) to investigate Owen (Blair Underwood). The recruits will learn the art of seduction in episode 9, titled Cleopatra. Alex sees this as a perfect opportunity to get closer to Owen.
Meanwhile, in the present timeline, the young FBI agent will finally get the answers on who the terrorists are and what they are planning. In the Quantico season 2 episode 9 promo, Shelby Wyatt (Johanna Braddy) will tell Alex that she has already unraveled the truth about the terrorists.
Meanwhile, Chopra is already well and back to work. The 34-year-old actress was hospitalized for an injury she sustained while filming Quantico in New York City.
According to Entertainment Tonight, Chopra was performing a stunt for an upcoming episode when she slipped and fell, and hit her head on the ground. She sustained a concussion.
The actress has been back in the spotlight since. She has attended the People’s Choice Awards last week where she won the Favorite Dramatic TV Actress award. Chopra emerged as winner among nominees Ellen Pompeo, Kerry Washington, Viola Davis, and Taraji P. Henson.
What to Expect in Upcoming Episodes of Quantico Season 2
Although showrunner Joshua Safran already said there will be no more flashbacks this season, it will actually start happening in March. The upcoming Quantico season 2 episode 9 will still feature flashbacks from Alex’s time at the Farm.
Safran earlier told TV Line that the flashbacks are no longer working for the show. He cited a couple of reasons why they are abandoning the idea.
First, he said that viewers don’t seem to like them anymore. As evidence, the ratings of the ABC drama dropped this season. The second reason is that writers themselves are having trouble keeping up the whole multiple timeline storyline.
“When we broke season 2, we knew we were going to go to one timeline, because it’s about the [terrorist] event, and then it’s about what happens after the event … you can’t flashback to the Farm after the crisis is over,” Safran said.
He added that the flashback-free episodes will start after episode 14. The episode is scheduled in March.
Quantico season 2 returns on Monday, January 23 at 10 p.m. in ABC. ABC has yet to issue an announcement on whether or not Quantico will return for season 3.
