NBC’s Powerless is not a show about DC’s extraordinary characters but about the ordinary people living in “this world.” Meaning to say, it is a series that will surely teach you how to differentiate a plane, a bird, and a superhero.

“When Superheroes Fight Superbads, it Sucks”

In the released trailers of NBC’s new comedy series, Powerless, it clearly shows why ordinary citizens need a super team who can save them from superheroes. The teaser runs for about 30 seconds but it already made the fans anticipate the show’s premiere next month.

As of writing, the show’s official Twitter account is already posting bits of teaser-like messages for its “powerless” followers. One post says be sure to mark the date of the premiere. While another post encourages the fans to “trust” the people who superheroes trust.

Meet the Team Who Will Save Us From Superheroes

Vanessa Hudgens, Alan Tudyk, Danny Pudi, and Ron Funches sat down for a talk with MTV. In the interview, the team revealed what fans need to know about the office comedy series before the premiere.

Tudyk, who plays the role of a naggy new boss named Del Heller, said:

“Powerless is an NBC show and it is an office comedy that is set in the world… with the backdrop of DC comics, superheroes.”

Adding on, Pudi, who plays the role of the lead character’s best friend named Teddy, revealed that the fictional team is working in an insurance company. These employees are part of “a group of regular people who don’t necessarily have superpowers but have to deal with the aftermath of superheroes.”

Hudgens, meanwhile, described her role as Emily Locke. She is the “head of the claims department and she takes pride on what she does.” However, when the new boss comes in (literally the worst boss ever), the “rivalry happens and things get a little feisty.”

On the other hand, in NBC’s released details, it says that the show is under two big productions, Warner Bros. Television and DC Entertainment. Michael Patrick Jann is the director and executive producer of the series alongside with Ben Queen as the writer and also as the executive producer.
