Starz announced that fans will be expecting the return for Outlander season 3 and four. This is in line with the network’s 25th anniversary.
Showrunner Ronald D. Moore will be adapting Diana Gabaldon’s Voyager and Drums of Autumn novels. These adaptations are from the Outlander series of the author.
Claire gives birth in Outlander Season 3
Entertainment Weekly said in an exclusive interview with Caitriona Balfe that Outlander season 3 will start with a preview of Claire giving birth to Brianna.
Claire thinks that her child with Jamie should start a new life, after him being dead.
“I think it’s difficult for both of them,” cast member Caitriona Balfe said. “Frank is coming to terms with his wife. He didn’t quite know what had happened.”
Outlander Season 3 to show new characters
Outlander season 3 will also welcome new cast members, aside from newborn Brianna.
Hannah James and Tanya Reynolds will be part of the Starz’s show. They will play as the Dunsany sisters Geneva and Isobel.
Starz said Geneva is “beautiful” and “headstrong.” However, she is also described as petulant and spoiled because of her being boxed in their home, Helwater.
On the other hand, Isobel is friendly and warm. She is likeable because of her characteristics, Den of Geek said in a report.
Outlander season 3 release date has not been announced but it is scheduled to be aired this year.
Moreover, Outlander season 3 cast will include César Domboy who will play as the adult Fergus. He will replace young boy Romann Berrux.
A Place to Call Home actor David Berry will also be in the Outlander season 3. He will play as Lord John William Grey, a former British soldier who will be friends with Jamie. John Bell of The Hobbit as well as Wil Johnson of The Walking Dead.
Though Outlander season 3 is not shown yet, better catch up with its season 2.
