Outlander enjoys tremendous fan following and there have been requests from various quarters for an early release of its Season 3. Meanwhile, author Diana Gabaldon spoke about the sacrifices made by the cast and crew to ensure that filming goes as per schedule.
The production team is trying its best to make sure that shooting completes on time. It is being said that the cast and crew of Outlander Season 3 have even compromised with their vacations so that filming can be completed without hiccups.
Author Reveals Sacrifices Made By Production Team
Diana Gabaldon, the author of the Outlander series of books, told The Herald in an interview that the team usually gets one break annually, which is for Christmas. Though the break lasts for about six weeks, the show’s crew and cast took a leave of only two weeks this time.
Gabaldon further said that the team intends to wrap up the filming as soon as possible. She added that six and a half episodes have been already filmed out of the 13 episodes. As per the original plan, this is precisely where they should be.
According to a report by International Business Times AU Edition, filming for Outlander Season 3 started in Scotland. But later on, the team will be also shooting some sequences in South Africa, which may tentatively take place in the month of May.
Viewers are aware that Season 2 had some scenes filmed in Prague and Paris to depict the 18th century France. But this time around, the cast will be sailing on a ship to reach the Caribbean.
However, the author has not divulged any information about when Season 3 will premiere. The reason for that could be because Starz takes such decisions.
But the good news is that the release date, synopsis and the first promo clip may be soon shared by the channel. Some pictures and stills from the premiere episode have already gone viral.
Apparently, Claire and Jamie will be having different storylines in the beginning when Outlander Season 3 airs.
