Star Wars Rebels season 3 teased about the rematch of Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Maul early on. With only five episodes left before it ends, fans are eager to find out when it will actually happen.
The showdown of Obi-Wan Kenobi (Stephen Stanton) and Darth Maul (Sam Witwer) promises to be one of the highlights of Star Wars Rebels season 3. Earlier spoilers hinted it would take place in the Tatooine desert.
This would be the first appearance of the Jedi Master since the end of The Clone Wars. Rumor has it, the Sith apprentice could be out for revenge.
Fans would recall their last encounter in the last part of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace did not end well for Darth Maul. Their previous encounter happened about 17 years before.
Star Wars Rebels Season 3 Episode 20
Twin Suns is the title for Star Wars Rebels season 3 episode 20 airing on March 18. According to Comic Book, the much-awaited showdown between Obi-Wan and Darth Maul will take place in the penultimate episode before the hour-long finale. Nonetheless, the synopsis for the episode clearly states it is still Ezra’s story.
“Twin Suns: Reacting to a vision of Maul, Ezra defies Hera and Kanan to travel to a remote planet in hopes of stopping the former Sith Lord from carrying out his plans.”
The synopsis is in line with the previous statement of executive producer Dave Filoni about the story’s continued focus on the Star Wars Rebels season 3 characters regardless of who else is added to it. As it turns out, Maul might not be the only one with a score to settle. Apparently, Maul killed off two people closest to Obi-Wan.
The first, master Qui-Gon Jinn, and second, Mandalorian leader Satine Kryze who happens to be the love of his life. Hence, the widespread speculation this showdown might be their final fight.

It reportedly involves the transport of a rebel leader. Episode 19 titled Double Agent Droid airs a week later on March 11 wherein Chopper and the AP-5 team will work together.
The two-part finale will air on March 25. Episode 21 Zero Hour-Part One reveals Grand Admiral Thrawn discovers the location of the Phoenix Squadron. However, not all hope is lost as they might get help from an unknown source in episode 22 Zero Hour-Part Two.
