Marvel is brewing up a new series which is about to have a pilot episode. It is going to be a new television show which will finally connect the X-Men movies.
Handling the production and the script is the American producer, writer, and director Matt Nix. He became popular for his works in Burn Notice and The Good Guys.
He will serve as the showrunner and also executive producer. Along with him are Lauren Shuler Donner, Bryan Singer, Simon Kinberg and Marvel’s Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory.
Matt Nix shares glimpse of what to expect
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Nix explained what would the new series looks like. The famous writer also expanded the possibility that the series will take several X-Men movies as prime references.
While keeping the excitement burning, Nix clearly said that the upcoming series will not be similar to M.C.U’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and the new show, Legion. Albeit, it will be more like an evolving story close to X-Men: Apocalypse.
An excerpt of his interview during the Television Critics Association’s Winter Press Tour on Wednesday follows: “Without getting into specifics that I’ll get murdered for, I would say that a fan of the movies — particularly the movies but also the comic books — would not be disoriented as to where this fits in the mythology. If you look at the movies that take place, they don’t all line up perfectly.”
“So it’s not like I’m slavishly fitting myself into a particular slot [but] if you like that world and the world of the movies, there are definite nods to it, it definitely exists in the same general universe.”
To provide a glimpse of what to expect, the upcoming pilot would be about a couple with extraordinary kids. Their children have mutant powers and the government wants them.
Frightened, the family went underground to join the network of mutants and must fight to survive. The plot may sound interesting to the Marvel fans, but wait for updates involving the new series that connects different X-Men movies.
Deadline confirms that FOX is ready for the pilot episode. The air date is yet to be out as well.
