New Promo for Pretty Little Liars Season 7 Shows The Liars are Helpless

Pretty Little Liars

The last ten episodes of Pretty Little Liars season 7 won’t arrive until April, but a new teaser dropped to ease the waiting game for fans.

The video clip appeared on the show’s official Twitter account. Consistent to the tone of the show for its seven seasons, the trailer is nothing short of scary and mysterious. It’s brief at only 30 seconds, but it conveys there’s still a lot going on in Rosewood. The trailer begins with a shot of the iconic Rosewood bell tower where a number of important scenes and deaths transpired.

Mona (Janel Parrish) then says, “We swim around in this fishbowl like we’re in control, we’re not. There’s always been somebody watching, manipulating.”

True enough, Mona’s statement summarizes the tone of the show’s seasons. No matter who was behind the letter and the black hoodie, the person who calls himself/herself “A” is always one step ahead of the Liars. Just when they thought they could get ahead, A drops a bomb that renders their efforts futile.

The show may be nearing its end, but the trailer shows there’s no guarantee the Liars will come out of it alive.

Quick recap of the first half of Pretty Little Liars season 7

The show ended with a literal bang before it took its hiatus. At this point, fans know that Spencer’s life hangs in the balance after Jenna Marshall shot her. To add to that shocker, Mary Drake admits that Spencer is actually her daughter.

Instead of resolving things, this revelation complicates the story line even more. After all, the Liars came to the conclusion that whoever Mary Drake’s long lost child is should be A.D. This leads to the question on whether Spencer is A.D. and if she’s been fooling her friends all this time.

However, a review of the season’s first half would show scenes that make it impossible for Spencer to be A.D. Unless she has an accomplice, she won’t be able to do half the things A.D. did without ever raising suspicions.

Fans will find out the answers to these burning questions when Pretty Little Liars season 7 returns this April 18, on Freeform.
