The highly anticipated series based on George R.R Martin’s novels nears its end with Game of Thrones season 7. The upcoming installment will be based on the author’s ongoing literary series, A Song of Ice and Fire.
According to Screen Rant, season 7 consists of only seven episodes. Despite its approaching end, there is still a lot of storyline to gush about. After all, events in Westeros are not yet over.
Meanwhile, many characters have been introduced in the series. The show built up plenty of fan favorite roles over the years. However, the usual reason why they leave is due to being killed off.
Rare exceptions come in the form of recasts. Now, Screen Rant reports that another actor is joining the series. Black Sails starrer Tom Hooper will replace Freddie Stroma as Dickon Tarly.
Stroma will not be returning in the premiere episode this summer. This is due to his commitment to the new series Time After Time.

Moreover, the GoT actor explained, “I was shooting (in Time After Time). So my character, I would not be able to go back now. It was still fun. I got to be in that world. I have watched all of it. It is just an incredible TV show.”
The 30-year-old actor adds that he really thought there was a shot to return. However, Winter is Coming reported that he became more committed to the ABC series.
He shares with the source, “Even just to get such a toe in there is fun. Just to be on set and kind of feel like I was in that world, I was a fan sitting there at the table doing that scene.”
Stroma’s fans were no doubt disappointed by this news. Nevertheless, it is only a good sign that he will be more focused on one show and might give fans more than what they expect.
