Miss Universe 2017 Kicks Off with a Hectic Schedule

After Boracay, the 86 candidates will have to fly up north and visit the beautiful province of Vigan at Calle Crisologo on January 15. The next day, contestants will be in Manila for a day. They will fly out of town and head to Cebu City, the oldest city in the Philippines.

The jam-packed itinerary also includes activities like strawberry picking in Baguio City on January 18, and a quick visit to Davao City on January 19, ABS-CBN News said in a report.  The Miss Universe 2017 candidates will also go to Batangas city for a beachwear photoshoot.

On January 23, the Miss Universe 2017 candidates will have a courtesy call to President Rodrigo Roa Duterte in Malacanang, including Miss Universe 2017 Philippines bet Maxine Medina. Other initial places to visit in the Philippines for Miss Universe 2017 have been cancelled, especially in Albay and Iloilo. This was due to the recent typhoon Nina which devastated the places.

The whale shark diving in Oslob, Cebu has also been removed from the itinerary following the call of environmentalist groups against the activity, CNN Philippines said.  DOT Undersecretary Kat De Castro said, “We’ve already spoken to environmentalists who raised the concern.”
