Michael Weatherly still misses his NCIS character and even finds a connection between Tony DiNozzo and his new character in Bull.
Weatherly has been known in portraying the role of cocky NCIS Special Agent Tony DiNozzo. The actor departed the CBS long-running procedural show at the end of Season 13. He then stars in CBS new show, Bull.
In the forthcoming episode of Bull, Weatherly will find his character, Dr. Jason Bull, somehow connected to very Special Agent DiNozzo.
“The [episode] we’re shooting right now, Bull has a very Cary Grant-Rosalind Russell relationship going on with this prosecutor, a little His Girl Friday. And it is so much fun because, of course, that’s one of my favorite things to do. I did it a lot as DiNozzo. But watching Bull do it is… It’s been sort of surprising. He’s a little naughty, is what I’m finding,” Weatherly told TVGuide.
Weatherly adds he thinks Bull is sort of an older and wiser version of the NCIS agent he used to portray. Michael Weatherly describes Bull as more measured and a bit more mature than his former character. He adds that he is now much more satisfied playing the role of a man who got some gray hair and who is a little more mysterious.

Since Michael Weatherly left the show, ratings of the show have dropped. NCIS fans have also been clamoring for at least a cameo from him. His character was never killed off. DiNozzo left the NCIS team to focus on raising his daughter with Ziva.
