The recent Marvel’s Defenders update reveal photos of the gang on set. In one of the photos, Jessica Jones, Daredevil and Luke Cage get together for a ride.
True enough, majority of the new images show Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) on a train. Meanwhile, a scroll down the photographer’s other photos would reveal Jessica and Matt walking the streets during a snowy day and even one showing the series’ villain.
Nevertheless, despite the photos offering a look of the characters, Screen Rant notes that it offers nothing about the plot. This just goes to show that the production for the series is successfully averting the leak of any spoilers.
Meanwhile, another thing noticeable from Sands’ previous photos is the absence of Iron Fist/Danny Rand (Finn Jones). It remains a mystery how the fourth Defender will fit in with the rest.
Avengers Tower Make Cameo in Fan Edit
In another Marvel’s Defenders related news, a fan edit allowed the Avengers tower to show up in an important Daredevil season 2 scene. Another Screen Rant article discussed the fan creativity.
The source cited Redditor CityHog who edited the clip. SR describes the scene as, “The scene shows Daredevil using his enhanced hearing to try and locate people, and when Elektra walks in behind him, the Avengers Tower can be seen in the background.”
The building that used to be Stark’s Tower features prominently in some of the Marvel Cinematic Universe films. However, despite the movies and the TV shows existing in the same universe, it is rare for the Netflix series to acknowledge the bigger MCU installments.
Hence, fans who marvel at the shared universe concept of Marvel Studios are often frustrated that there’s very little interaction going on between the movies and the shows. The movies do not even mention elements from series like Agents of SHIELD.
Marvel’s Defenders and Avengers Infinity War
Last year, a post shared by Robert Downey, Jr. made much buzz around the Internet. Marvel fans in particular were thrilled.
The post in question shared a mock poster of Avengers Infinity War. With it came the names of actors from Agents of SHIELD as well as Marvel’s Defenders. This sparked hope for many that the TV characters would make their way to the films.
However, clarification later revealed the poster as fan made. Furthermore, the Russo brothers also stated that it would be hard to integrate the TV characters on film.
Still, although the Defenders won’t make it to the big screen soon, the team up series drops in Netflix later this year. Marvel’s Defenders releases in Summer 2017.
