Olivia Holt and Aubrey Joseph join Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger cast. Find out fun facts about both actors in the upcoming Freeform drama series.
The social media activities of the showrunner as well as the rumored stars could have fooled anyone. Then again, the latest news about Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger cast belies the earlier rumors about who would play the lead characters.
This time around, Deadline confirms Olivia Holt and Aubrey Joseph will bring to life Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson, respectively. Read on to find out more about them and the characters they will take on.
Meet Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger Cast
Olivia Holt is a former Disney Channel star. She is also a recording artist.
Holt takes on the role of Tandy Bowen/Dagger. She releases light daggers. Tandy enjoyed a privileged life as a young child. However, tragedy struck and led to her family’s hardship.
Aubrey Joseph will play the character of Tyrone Johnson/Cloak. He can submerge others in darkness. Early in life, Tyrone wanted to prove himself fearless. However, a misfortune took away everything he valued early on. As a result, he became afraid.
Tyrone and Tandy eventually meet in a surprising encounter and it changes their lives forever. Gizmodo foresees Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger will focus a lot on the relationship between the two characters.
Thus, fans might expect a more romantic storyline since they share the same heroic origins. Both young mutants gained their superhero powers after they took a sinister designer drug. So, despite the challenges of their relationship, they know they are better together than apart.
Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger Cast Bodes Well for Series
Showrunner Joe Pokaski expressed excitement at Holt’s and Joseph’s entry to the cast of Cloak and Dagger. Indeed, it could give fans a sneak peek at what to expect from the two lead stars.
“The characters of Tandy and Tyrone have always stood out to me ever since I first met them in the pages of Marvel comics when I was a boy,” Pokaski said. “When Olivia and Aubrey read for the roles, these characters leapt off the page. We’re so excited to see what these talented young actors bring to the Marvel Universe,” the showrunner added.
Indeed, Marvel’s Head of Television Jeph Loeb shares his enthusiasm. Hence, he seems confident to present them to the audience in their respective roles.
