Marvel Comics just hinted a possible evil Captain America this 2017. The comics’ giant recently revealed a teaser photo which suggests that their next major event will highlight Captain America and Hydra double Steve Rogers.

Marvel is apparently building up a crossover with Captain America as its focus, called the Secret Empire. It can be noted that Marvel Comics fans went gaga when Captain America was revealed to be an agent of Hydra. This has resulted to the fallout of Civil War II, and has left Marvel heroes in great conflicts.

Marvel Comics to Drop Secret Empire Crossover

Though there has been no confirmation yet about the Marvel Comics’ Secret Empire, it is now being assumed by various reports that it involves a major crossover.

As per the report of IGN, the Marvel Universe’ division will pave the way for Secret Empire. In the teaser for the upcoming theme, a quote from Abraham Lincoln was included:

“A House Divided Against Itself Cannot Stand.”

“Secret Empire could be a crossover between those two books,” the report said. “Or it could be a separate mini-series that ties into both.” The report also noted that the Secret Empire will highlight Marvel writer Nick Spencer’s call to make Captain America Steve Rogers to reveal as a secret Hydra agent since childhood.

Captain America Steve Rogers as the Villain

If this shall push through, the relationship of Steve a.k.a. Captain America to his co-superheroes might still be on a rough road. This will also make him look like the villain from his superhero colleagues.

The Secret Empire is a terrorist organization in the Marvel Universe and is known to have a partnership with Hydra. According to Crave Online, the organization is also one of Captain America’s threats in the 1960s. It became famous when the leader of the group became the President of the Unites States. This made Steve become disillusioned and even came to a point where he gave up being Captain America.

Will Secret Empire eventually turn Captain America the villain?
