Two former late night talk show hosts will face-off in the upcoming episode of Lip Sync Battle. Thus, could this spark their rivalry again?
No doubt, audiences recognize both celebrities from their respective late night gigs. Jay Leno hosted The Tonight Show. The host’s name was tied to the series for a long time, spanning 1992 to 2009 and later on from 2010 to 2014.
Meanwhile, Craig Ferguson hosted the Late Late Show from 2005 to 2015. James Corden holds the show’s current incarnation.
This time around, Leno and Ferguson lip-sync their way to victory come Thursday at 10 p.m, on Spike. Their appearance as Lip Sync Battle contestants follows other celebrities who have braved the stage for the prized title belt and bragging rights.
Lip Sync Battle Song Choices
The choice of songs for a lip sync battle could make or break a celebrity contestant on the show. Indeed, Don Cheadle edged out Wanda Sykes with his rendition of Mo Money Mo Problems. On the other hand, T.J. Miller’s Just Dance was no match to Sam Richardson’s Hot Blooded.
Separate promos of the Lip Sync Battle between the former late night show hosts reveal their selection. Entertainment Weekly posted the earlier teaser of Craig Ferguson’s second round song.
The former Late Late Show host did not hold back as he lip-synced the classic ABBA hit Take a Chance on Me. Perhaps, he is hopeful audiences would take a hint and take a chance to vote for him.
Yet Jay Leno seems to have come prepared for battle. Billboard noted the former host is not going down without a fight. He slips into a leather jacket and gamely moves to the rock hit The Ballroom Blitz by The Sweet.
So, Who will Win Lip Sync Battle?
It is often a close call to make when it comes to who will win a showdown on Lip Sync Battle. However, given the sneak peek at what Jay Leno has to offer, it is possible he might have the advantage. Then again, seeing Craig Ferguson copy ABBA could make the match worth watching to find out who ultimately wins.
