Keanu Reeves

Fans who already saw John Wick: Chapter 2 and still can’t get enough of the assassin are probably wondering ahead when the John Wick 3 release date is. Although a third film isn’t official yet, it seems things are looking good for another movie in the lineup.

Keanu Reeves who plays the titular role already expressed his interest for another installment. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, the actor shared his high regard for the character. The source quotes him as saying:

“I love the character and the world. Whether or not I get the chance to do another chapter is really up to the audience. If they enjoy what we did — and hopefully they do, fingers-crossed, I really dig it — but if they do enjoy it, then I’ll have the chance to continue the story of the character and the world.”

The film already premiered in some international markets and though it has yet to announce official box office numbers on its opening day, reviews have been positive so far. The sequel currently holds an 85 percent rating from Rotten Tomatoes.

Furthermore, it’s safe to assume that fans will love the second film as much as the original one. After all, the new movie retained the formula of the first film.

John Wick Chapter 2 Spoilers and Possible John Wick 3 Release Date

Chapter 2 shows the assassin still looking for his car. This gives the feeling that events of the sequel happen only days from when the first film ended.

After chasing off a guy on a motorcycle for some sort of an entrance pass, John Wick raids the hideout of Abram Tarasov (Peter Stormare). The goon is the brother of the deceased Viggo (Michael Nyqvist) and uncle of Iosef (Alfie Allen), both of whom Wick killed in Part 1.

Not holding back on the action, Wick fights his way among many Russian gangsters before retrieving his car. When every man is out, he approaches Tarasov and makes peace with him.

However, his peace is short-lived when later that night, he gets a visit from crime lord/assassin Santino D’Antonio (Riccardo Scamarcio). Holding a marker that Wick must honor, D’Antonio asks for his help with something. However, since Wick is dedicated in leaving his Boogeyman person behind, he declines D’Antonio’s offer.

The rejection does not please the crime boss. In retaliation, he burns Wick’s house down. Wick later seeks the advise of Continental owner Winston who tells him that the only way to get D’Antonio off his back is to give him what’s he’s asking for.

D’Antonio later on reveals that he wants his sister dead to earn the seat at the High Table–a council for crime lords. Wick’s bigger action scenes begin as he fights his way out of Gianna D’Antonio’s highly-skilled guards.

Despite his successful escape, Wick finds himself battling more men from Santino’s side whose goal is to silence him. he later on evades their attacks and at the movie’s climax, Wick kills Santino in Continental grounds.

Since any form of violence violates the rules of the hotel, Wick is excommunicated. The film ends with him running from a number of watchful assassins.

With that ending, it seems John Wick’s world is still rich in possible storylines. Catch the film in theaters now and stay tuned for news in case a John Wick 3 release date drops.
