Even before How to Get Away with Murder Season 3 premiered, fans were warned that the new season will be shocking and heartbreaking. It turned out to be true as Wes Gibbins was killed off in the midseason finale. Now fans are scrambling to figure out who killed him.
How to Get Away with Murder Season 3 utilized a lot of flash-forwards in the first half of the season as the show slowly revealed who was not in the body bag that police brought out from Annalise’s scorched house. The revelation that it was Wes left fans reeling, especially that the character was such a vital one to the series. Annalise’s subsequent arrest also left fans with a lot of questions.
Does Hannah or the Mahoneys Know How to Get Away with Murder?
It is not surprising that the hashtag #whokilledwes trended after the episode as viewers started piecing together what they know. According to Gamenguide, there are only a handful of suspects in this case – Hannah Keating, Connor Walsh and the Mahoneys. Frank could also be considered a prime suspect, but actor Charlie Weber already denied his character’s involvement in Wes’ murder.
A lot of fans seem to believe that Hannah might be the culprit as she is still haunted by her brother’s death and blames Annalise for it. The Mahoneys are also a logical choice as Wes testified against them previously. But this is How to Get Away with Murder, so fans should not discount the rest of the Keating 5.
But there is a silver lining to all these, and that is fans will still get to see Wes for the rest of the season. Show creator Peter Nowalk had confirmed that Alfred Enoch will still be around as they reveal Wes’ final hours in flashbacks. But whether he will return in How to Get Away with Murder Season 4 is something the showrunner has to think about.
The series is currently on hiatus but will return in January. Fans can expect even more bombshells to explode when How to Get Away with Murder Season 3 returns.
