More challenges await John Palmer in the upcoming Home and Away 2017 episodes. His life will be at risk when he goes into a brain surgery.

Summer Bay finally found out that John (Shane Withington) is the arsonist who started a series of fires in town. In his most recent crime, John’s wife Marilyn (Emily Symons) suffered from serious burns. Apparently, it also caused Billie Ashford’s (Tessa de Josselin) terminal cancer that led to her death.

John was also recently diagnosed with a brain tumor. The tumor stemmed from the injury he sustained last year. Since then, there have been changes in his behavior.

His condition deteriorated and recently had block outs and seizures. Last week, he was rushed to the hospital after he collapsed again. At the hospital, Dr. Nate Cooper (Kyle Pryor) informed him of his condition.

This is also the reason why he has no recollection of the fires. Nate told John that he needs to undergo a major surgery for the best chance of surviving.

But John can’t live with the guilt of what he did. As the reality of what he had done started to sink in, he refused to go under the knife. Digital Spy wrote that Marilyn appealed to her husband to change his decision.

John eventually agreed to have the operation. However, the publication cited a TV week report which says that John goes into anaphylactic shock and his life in great danger.

John is Charged With Arson

Police officer Kat Chapman (Pia Millier) also formally charged John with five counts of arson resulting in property damage and injury, and one count of arson causing death.

John insisted to Marilyn that he has no plans to fight the charges. However, Marilyn argues that he doesn’t know what he was doing when he committed the crimes because of the tumor.

In the upcoming episodes of Home and Away 2017, it seems like John will be sent to prison. Back to Bay reported that Withington was spotted dressed in a jumpsuit and had handcuffs.

Atty. Morag Bellingham (Cornelia Frances) was also confirmed to reprise her role this season. Last year, Morag returned in Summer Bay after Zac was accused of murdering Charlotte King. She had the charges against Zac dropped.

In next week’s episode, VJ (Matther Little) will also forgive John for what he did that killed Billie, Back to the Bay wrote.
