Jenna Dewan-Tatum will be serving as host and mentor for the upcoming dance competition, World of Dance. The actress and dancer will join Jennifer Lopez and other judges in the new show.
Channing Tatum’s wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum was confirmed for her new stint by NBC. Derek Hough and Ne-Yo will also be the judges of the show.
World of Dance to Give Dancers Their Dream Break
The dance competition is a 10-episode series brought by Universal Television Alternative Studio. It is also in partnership with Nuyorican Productions. The talent show will give an opportunity for dancers to show off their skills. The grand winner will receive a whopping $1 million.
Jennifer Lopez Excited for the Premiere
In an earlier statement by JLo, she gushes about the new talent competition. She said the show which will showcase the rawness of every dance. “This will be a fierce talent-heavy dance competition that embraces the raw emotion and excitement that dance represents,” Jennifer Lopez said.
She added that she is excited to work for the competition which gives chances for dancers to reach their dreams, Billboard said in a report. “I am excited to work with World of Dance, an organization that has had an immeasurable impact on the dance community, to give all dancers an enormous platform where their dreams can be realized.”
The Hold You Down singer has also released a teaser promo for her new show on her Instagram account. She posted the clip alongside the caption, “1 million reasons to show up and leave it out on the dance floor.”
Dewan-Tatum’s stint as host for the dance show is not her first time. It can be recalled that the dancer also has her own dance competition show in NBC. The actress also appeared in Supergirl as Lois Lane’s younger sister Lucy Lane, Deadline said.
The World of Dance will also showcase choreographers Napoleon and Tabitha D’umo. Director Alex Rudzinski will be directing the show. Catch the show in NBC this coming spring.
