Niall Horan has more changes to offer this new year. The One Direction member has surprised his followers by dyeing his hair to brown. The This Town singer debuted his new look at the Oliver Spencer fashion show in London recently.
Horan has been known for his blonde locks. Now, the singer showed off his new chocolate brown hair, while clad in a white t-shirt and dark blue skinny jeans. The 23-year-old also accentuated his new look with a dark gray jacket and a pair of brown boots.
One Direction fans have mix reactions on Horan’s change of hair color. Many of Niall Horan’s 28.8 million followers on Twitter share their thoughts about his new hairdo. One fan says the singer now looks hotter with his brunette locks, while another says Horan’s brunette hair compliments his blue angelic eyes.
However, not all are happy with his new looks. One Twitter user writes: “His hair is now a full brunette can you hear the sound of my tears touching the floor? #VideoMTV2016 Niall Horan.”
Why Niall Horan Changed His Hair Color
Horan has yet to reveal the reason of his sudden change in hair color. Irish publication Entertainment, however, notes that it could be in support of his solo career or the singer wants a more adult-looking image. Horan’s new brown hair came just weeks after he had pneumonia.
This is not the first time Horan became adventurous when it comes to hair color. In 2013, he dyed his hair purple to celebrate 1D Day. A year before that, One Direction mentor Simon Cowell prohibited Horan from dyeing his hair black, Mirror notes.
Niall Horan released his first single, This Town, as a solo artist in September 2016 under Capital Records. Since its launch, the song has peaked at number 9 on the UK Singles Chart and at number 20 on the US Billboard Hot 100.
Horan unveiled his solo career amidst One Direction indefinite hiatus. The British band took a break from the limelight early last year after releasing their fifth album, Made in the A.M., in November 2015. Fans are still hoping for a One Direction reunion soon. Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, and Harry Styles had a brief reunion at the backstage of X Factor UK last month.
