Shonda Rhimes’ TV Series Could Rival ER
Dungey hopes that the show created by Shonda Rhimes would follow the footsteps of ER. She hopes that it can rival ER, which ran for a total of 15 seasons.
“That would be lovely,” Dungey shares. “I will take even more! Honestly, I think that the show is going to continue as long as Shonda and the gang have a creative passion for telling those stories. At the moment, it feels like we are full steam ahead.”
According to the report, Grey’s Anatomy continues to be the most successful and longest running show of the TV series. It has an average of 11.6 million viewers and a total of 3.7 in the 18-49 demo. Though the viewership of the series is marginally down, yet it features in the top four entertainment TV series.
“What Shonda and the team at Grey’s have really been able to do over time is continue to bring in new characters that give the series additional life and energy while remaining true to the core cast of characters,” Dungey continues.
Dungey also stated that the audience is extremely interested in the relationship of Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Alex (Justin Chambers). The two characters have been part of the show since season 1. According to her, the writers of the show are doing well, because the fans see Alex and Meredith in a different light now.
In another report from International Business Times, the doctors could be experiencing trouble, as a character will be convicted of a felony. The official Twitter handle of the hit TV series unveiled that three doctors are already placed behind bars. The suspect will be headed for a life sentence if proven guilty.
