Another The Good Wife character showed up in the courtroom drama spinoff. Check out The Good Fight season 1 episode 4 recap here.
Mike Kresteva (Matthew Perry) will now cause headaches to Reddick, Boseman & Kolstad. Kresteva first appeared in The Good Wife as Alicia Florrick’s nemesis.
In the spinoff, Kresteva first led a DOJ task force tasked to curb police brutality cases. However, things did not go well for him. But it seems like he is coming back for more.
Kresteva’s initial plan was to sue RBK that handles the majority of police brutality suits. He subpoenaed Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski) and Adrian Boseman (Delroy Lindo) before a grand jury.
When Diane testifies before the grand jury, Kresteva spins some lies about their meeting. Entertainment Weekly wrote. Diane accused Kresteva of lying.
Meanwhile, Lucca Quinn (Cush Jumbo) asked Colin Morrello (Justin Bartha) for help with Kresteva. Colin told the Attorney General what Kresteva is doing and warned him that going after a predominantly black law firm will put the government in a bad spot. So, the AG tells Kresteva to either find something else or drop the case.
Kresteva dropped the case but he is not stopping. He will run after Diane’s goddaughter Maia Rindell (Rose Leslie) next. Fake news articles about Maia spending a very high amount of money on jewelry lands on his desk and he wants to know where Maia’s money came from.

Before Maia’s wealth information reached Kresteva, she fought her ex-boyfriend Ted first about a Twitter bot he created after she dumped him. The bot tweeted things about her love life and the tweets are used as quotes in fake news articles.
Ted first claimed that he can’t take down the bot. So Maia and Marissa (Sarah Steele) created fake news articles about Ted. In the end, Ted agreed to stop his fake stories about Maia. Unfortunately, the fake news is already out there.
Meanwhile, the firm had a victory when the court sided in favor of Diane and Barbara’s client, Laura. The two tried to help a woman to recover eggs she donated to a fertility clinic.
Laura wants the eggs back since it is the only way she could have her own child since she already had ovarian cancer. Unfortunately, 11 of her eggs were used in stem-cell research. The last was given to a doctor in private practice, has been fertilized, and is about to be used.
The case gets more complicated when it was revealed that the couple currently in custody of the egg plans to harvest its genetic material into a separate embryo. It is an experimental procedure that the couple plans to pursue in England, where it is legal. At the end, the court ruled in favor of Laura after Diane found out that the couple paid more for the egg than British law allows.
