Zealous watchers who are patiently waiting for Game of Thrones season 7 to arrive on television may not be able to catch Freddie Stroma. The actor explained in a recent report why he will not reprise his role as Dickon Tarly again.
The actor had a brief appearance in season 6 during a family dinner. However, the public will not see a glimpse of him again once season 7 arrives.
Stroma, who also starred in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince told IGN that it is due to a conflict of schedule. The actor will appear as author H.G. Wells in the series, Time After Time.
The Real Reason Behind His Departure
Although he said that he enjoyed the stint in the previous GOT season, the young star admitted that he is more committed to the new show which will be out on March 5.
“I was shooting this, so my character, I wouldn’t be able to go back now,” he explained “It was still fun. I got to be in that world. I’ve watched all of it. It’s just an incredible TV show.”
“Even just to get such a toe in there is fun. Just to be on set and kind of feel like I was in that world, I was a fan sitting there at the table doing that scene,” Stroma added.
Meanwhile, Winter is Coming reported months ago that actor Tom Hopper joined the cast of the medieval-fantasy series as Dickon’s younger brother. However, since Stroma opted out of the show, there is a chance that the former will take his place in Game of Thrones Season 7.
Those who can still remember, their father Randyll (James Faulkner) prefers Dickon to his younger brother. He favors the former to Sam to the point wherein Randyll forced him to join the Night Watch. In that way, Dickon can totally inherit the Tarly household.
While HBO confirmed the return of Faulkner as the character, the network is yet to confirm if Hopper would be the replacement. Stay tuned for more updates regarding Game of Thrones season 7.
