Game of Thrones season 7 still has ample time for filming before the series returns this summer. With that, recent news details that production for the HBO show already moved to Iceland.

Reliable GoT source Winter is Coming reports on this recent development. The website mentions Redditor jdtargstark who compiled Instagram photos from different crew members.

Among the accounts the Redditor collected photos from are Ciarán Curry, Slyvia Lovetank and Katy Taylor. What the three have in common is they all work with the show’s costume department. However, there are no reports of actors being in the area so far.

Nevertheless, as per Winter is Coming, “Where there are costumers, there are people to costume”. Hence, stars from the series could make it to Iceland in the coming days or weeks. Taylor revealed to one Instagram user that filming in Iceland may take a couple of weeks.

What could Game of Thrones season 7 film in Iceland?

The show’s finale finally brought Game of Thrones to “winter is here” territory. Hence, any scenes filmed in Iceland makes sense. However, as to the specifics, another article from Winter is Coming may have revealed some key details.

According to the report, filming at Wolf Hill Quarry involves a major action sequence. Rumored characters to appear are Jon Snow (Kit Harington), The Hound (Rory McCann) and Jorah Mormont (Iain Glen), among others. However, more note-worthy is the reported appearance of 300 extras as wights.

Further clues also suggest that the big fight drops on episode 6 of season 7. Based on GoT‘s history, this makes sense given that the show’s biggest moments happen at the episode before the season finale.

Game of Thrones music tour

While waiting for season 7, another GoT aspect that fans may turn their attention to is the show’s music tour. As per Billboard, composer Ramin Djawadi goes “on a 28-city North American arena tour” for his music. Check out the site here for more details.
