Empire Season 4 renewal was recently announced during the Television Critics Association winter press tour. It seems like the Lyons family are not going anywhere!

Empire Season 4 Announcement

According to TV Fanatic, the Fox series will return for its fourth installment in 2017-2018 TV seasons. It will be composed of 18 episodes. Everything is in the hands of the viewers, whether the drama continues to reign among all series.

The abovementioned source reported that its third season presently has an average of 8.7 million viewers. Also, it has 3.2 ratings from ages 18-49 demographic. This represents a 30 percent decrease in figures. However, Empire is still a solid force to be reckoned with in terms of delayed viewings.

In line with this, the show is currently on three-month hiatus, reports The Hollywood Reporter. For the meantime, a musical drama titled Star helmed once again by Empire co-creator Lee Daniels, is currently taking over Empire’s slot until March.

Therefore, Empire‘s hardwork to be the best drama is obviously the main reason why it got renewed for Season 4. Few setbacks cannot easily scare Lyons off as viewers continue to love them.

Empire Season 3: Did it do well?

The third season has somehow managed to return everything back into its roots after a not-so-good Season 2. It is safe to say that the series’ second installment performance is quite substandard compared to their freshman year.

Though early renewals have been a tradition to the franchise, the series recently faced competition against NBC’s This Is us. Despite this, they recovered in the final episodes. This paves way for the launch of Stars.

Meanwhile, Lucious Lyon has been deceitful this year as usual. It seems like he is together again with Anika. The latter is the person who played a major role in Rhonda Lyon’s demise.

In the end, Season 3 will reportedly focus on family. This is while they do their best getting rid of people who are against them. But it is never going to be easy as Tariq continuously closes in on them.

Furthermore, Danny Strong co-creates Empire with Daniels. Along with them is Ilene Chaiken as the showrunner. Sanaa Hamri, Brian Grazer, and Francie Calfo are the executive producers.

Empire was produced by 20th TV in partnership with Imagine Entertainment. Viewers will soon see how this team comes together again for Empire Season 4.
