The DuckTales reboot trailer reveals a bigger role for Donald Duck who hardly appeared in the eighties animated series.

Thus, the DuckTales reboot trailer bodes good things for when the all-new series returns this summer to Disney XD. The sneak peek reveals Donald Duck would be a regular companion of the boys and Uncle Scrooge on their adventures.

Yet, based on the DuckTales reboot trailer, it appears Donald Duck is not as excited as his nephews are. Indeed, their misadventures seem to leave him tuckered out. Nonetheless, fans will surely welcome his presence in it even though some have raised concerns about its art style.

Cast Sings Theme Song in DuckTales Reboot Trailer

The cast came together in a promo to sing the original theme song of DuckTales. Hence, an interesting and musical introduction to who are the voices behind the beloved characters of the rebooted animated series.

The DuckTales reboot cast includes an all-star lineup with David Tennant (Doctor Who, Broadchurch, Jessica Jones) lending his voice to Scrooge McDuck. Indeed, the actor gives a heartfelt delivery of the popular theme song.

The rest of the cast includes Danny Pudi (Community, Powerless) who lends his voice to Huey. Ben Schwartz (Parks and Recreation, Star Wars: The Force Awakens) is Dewey and Bobby Moynihan (Saturday Night Live, We Bare Bears) is Louie.

Launchpad McQuack (Beck Bennett), Mrs. Beakley (Toks Olagundoye), and Webby Vanderquack (Kate Micucci) round out the cast. Interestingly, Tony Anselmo will continue to voice Donald Duck in the DuckTales reboot. The actor also voiced the character in the original series according to Screen Rant.

DuckTales Reboot Gets Second Season Nod

Prior to its premiere this summer, the DuckTales reboot already received the green light for its second season according to Deadline. Marc Buhaj, Senior Vice President for Programming and General Manager of Disney XD made the announcement earlier this month.

“Fans around the world are eager and we’re looking forward to introducing viewers to the all-new DuckTales. This early season two order is a testament to the quality work the creative team, led by Matt and Frank, and the cast are delivering.”

DuckTales aired between 1987 and 1990. The series is based on the comics of Carl Barks about the adventures of Donald Duck and Uncle Scrooge.

According to Den of Geek, the comic influenced the Indiana Jones franchise back then. In turn, the series took on its same flavor of adventure and comedy. The animated series also inspired a video created for NES.
