Girl Meets World cancellation news has been in silence for a long time. But Boy Meets World starrer Rider Strong spoke of the Disney spinoff’s end during his podcast.
As expected, Strong’s comments regarding the Girl Meets World cancellation did not ease the fans’ concerns. Strong is known for reprising the role of Cory’s best friend, Shawn Hunter, in the latest episode entitled Literary Disco. Following the third installment’s production, Rider Strong said that the series has already ended, TV Line reported.
Rider Strong Talks Season 4
“We finished the third season of Girl Meets World — my brother and I were directing a lot of episodes and I acted in a couple — and the show ended,” says the 37-year-old actor. Season 3 reportedly promised to give their avid fans several sneak peeks from behind the scenes. On the other hand, Disney Channel executives did not respond to Strong’s statements on the show.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the said Boy Meets World spinoff first aired in 2014. It features the story of Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga Matthews’ (Danielle Fishel) daughter, which is portrayed by Rowan Blanchard. Other stars who made a cameo from the original series are William Daniels’ Mr. Feeny and Lee Norris’ Minkus.
Girl Meets World Season Finale
Girl Meets World is set to return with new episodes next year. And Rider Strong suggests that these are the last. Episode 18 entitled Girl Meets a Christmas Maya last aired on December 2. In January, the finale will be welcoming the appearances of a big time cast from the original series.
The ‘comeback’ includes Strong (Shawn), Daniels (Mr. Feeny), Norris (Minkus), Anthony Tyler Quinn (Mr. Turner), Betsy Randle (Amy), Danny McNulty (Harley), Lily Nicksay (Morgan No. 1), Lindsay Ridgeway (Morgan No. 2), William Russ (Alan) and Will Friedle (Eric). Furthermore, fans will have to wait for Disney’s official cancellation news. Girl Meets World returns on Jan. 6, Friday.
