All eyes will be on Detective Kenny Rixton in this week’s episode 14 of Chicago PD season 4. Find out why below.
In a sneak peek shared by TV Guide, Erin Lindsay (Sophia Bush) celebrates her passing of the re-qualification exam. However, it is cut short when a cop from another department gives her and Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) a warning.
The warning is about the new member of the Intelligence Unit – Kenny Rixton (Nick Wechsler). “Watch your back,” the cop told Erin.
Rixton already had one strike in his time with the Intel team. In the previous episode, Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) caught Rixton lying about his associations with underground criminals. The team members’ trust in Rixton further diminished after they learned that indictments are being handed down against members of the gang unit.
Voight brought Rixton over to join the Intelligence Unit when Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) left the team for an undercover job. Most of the team members don’t like Rixton.
Chicago Sun Times quoted executive producer Matt Olmstead saying, “Adding this new character was a nice way to have some fresh story-telling. It gives the show a little jolt.” He also teased Rixton’s future with the team. “He’s Voight’s guy, but is he going to be able to succeed?” the showrunner said.
For Ruzek’s fans, Olmstead assured that the character will be coming back in the series. Marina Squerciati (Kim Burgess) also hinted that Ruzek might appear in episode 14 as well.
