Serinda Swan

The Marvel’s Inhumans cast continues to grow. Former Chicago Fire star Serinda Swan joins the Royal Family as Medusa.

Swan’s TV credentials include roles in Chicago Fire, Breakout Kings, Graceland, and Smallville. This time around, she will take on the lead role of Medusa in the upcoming Marvel’s Inhumans TV show.

Production reportedly starts this March for Marvel’s Inhumans. Hence, the past few weeks have introduced a number of stars who will be part of it like Anson Mount (Black Bolt) and Iwan Rheon (Maximus).

Excitement for Swan’s Entry in Marvel’s Inhumans Cast

Attilan has found its queen, Entertainment Weekly reports. Like her husband, the leader of the Royal Family, Medusa has a regal presence about her. At the same time, she possesses great power.

Marvel TV head and executive producer Jeph Loeb along with showrunner Scott Buck believe Swan embodies these characteristics. Hence, their excitement to cast her in the TV series. Buck had this to say about Serinda Swan:

“Serinda Swan brings a regal elegance, as well as a sense of great inner strength and fierce determination, to the role of Medusa. I couldn’t be happier to have her as our Queen of Attilan.”

Given their praises of the actors cast as Marvel’s Inhumans characters, it appears the series is shaping up as a must see for fans. The series premieres in September.

Meet Marvel’s Inhumans Medusa

Prior to her role as the Queen of Attilan, Medusa was part of the Frightful Four who are the wicked equivalent of the Fantastic Four. However, she reportedly lost her memories after Maximus seized the throne from her husband, Black Bolt.

Upon regaining her memories, she assumed the role of queen of the Inhumans. Moreover, she eventually became one of Marvel’s top heroines and occasionally joins the Fantastic Four.

She has also starred in several book titles as the exclusive ruler of the Inhumans. Moreover, she was also part of the all-female Avengers team known as the A-Force–emerging as proof of her own ability and power.

Yet her most interesting attribute is one many comic book fans are eager to see rendered onscreen, Nerdist remarked. Indeed, Medusa’s red hair is her most striking feature.

While it might call to mind Rapunzel in the animated movie Tangled, Medusa’s hair gives her the ability to do much more owing to its tensile strength. She can also extend it at will and use it to carry herself.
