Speculations, rumors and news abound the internet about the upcoming spinoff of the NBC TV show The Blacklist. The famous drama-cum-crime thriller series’ spinoff The Blacklist Redemption is confirmed to air early 2017.
The spinoff will focus more on Ryan Eggold’s character, an original part of the cast from the series The Blacklist. An additional member to the cast is also seen. Eggold said that the spinoff will be a classic spy show. He compared it to Bourne movies, Three Days of the Condor and Mission Impossible.
The fans are thrilled to know that there will be a spinoff for The Blacklist, which made its first television premiere in 2013. TV show critics and viewers are impressed about the series, giving it several good ratings and reviews.
Terry O’Quinn Joins Cast
Another big name addition to the cast will be seen in the spinoff. According to Entertainment Weekly, Terry O’Quinn joined The Blacklist Redemption and is set to play as father of Tom Keen, Ryan’s character.
O’Quinn is best known for his work on the drama series Lost. He appeared on Hawaii Five-o, 666 Park Avenue and Secrets and Lies. In the spinoff, he will play as Howard Hargrave, the founder of Halcyon Aegis.
According to EW, “He is brilliant, an asymmetrical thinker, and a visionary leader. He is also a man driven by deeply held moral convictions that can put him at odds with his own company.”
Howard will face a crisis that would affect his company, family and life. He has a complicated relationship with his wife of many years, Scottie Hargrave, and is struggling because of profound personal tragedies.
The Blacklist Redemption is expected to release eight episodes and is set to air in February 2017. Meanwhile, watch out for the return of The Blacklist Season 4 on Jan. 5, 2017, Thursday, on NBC.
