The Big Bang Theory Season 10 episode 11 must have made the viewers and its loyal followers feel old — but in a good way. Besides, wouldn’t that be the usual feeling when the characters that viewers have known for very long, ten seasons at that, get married or have a child?
Thursday’s The Big Bang Theory episode saw the highly anticipated birth — and Raj’s (Kunal Nayyar) unexpected gender reveal — of Howard (Simon Helberg) and Bernadette’s (Melissa Rauch) baby girl, Hallie.
Yes, like the comet! And yes, Howard is now a dad! And, as if we can stop them from growing up, Raj now takes on a new role as Hallie’s godfather — a very proud one at that.
The inspiration for the baby’s name came from the famous comet, Halley, which takes its name from astronomer and geophysicist Edmond Halley. There is, however, still some confusion on how the name is pronounced (and, in some instances, spelled) in some parts of the world, according to Screener.
It has been nine years since The Big Bang Theory gang met and got together. The guys have indeed grown up a lot. That includes Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Penny (Kaley Cuoco), who just got married, and Sheldon (Jim Parsons), who has since moved in together with Amy (Mayim Bialik).
A Birth Synchronicity in Big Bang Theory
The Wolowitzes’ new bundle of joy arrived on the same day as Amy’s birthday — a birth synchronicity of sorts. But Howard and Bernadette did not name their baby after Amy or some other famous or renowned Amy … just a thought.
The TV show has come a long way, and each character has had their development through the years. In a way, the characters are like children whom the viewers have watched grow before their eyes — all these while making them laugh and have fun.
The Big Bang Theory Season 10 last aired on Dec. 15, Thursday. Watch out for the next episode, which will resume airing in January 2017 on CBS.
