Jennifer Garner’s estranged husband, Ben Affleck, has been allegedly preparing for his standalone The Batman solo movie. However, recent news surfaced that Affleck may not direct the film under certain circumstances.
Last year, fans of Affleck were thrilled to know that he was directing the stand alone Batman movie. The project was confirmed and announced officially by the Warner Bros. studio back in April 2016.
According to a report from Empire Online, Affleck had been busy writing the script for the film with the DC boss, Geoff Johns. The title of the upcoming movie will be The Batman. The report further suggested that Affleck will be working with Joe Manganiello in the movie. Manganiello will be playing the role of Deathstroke, the film’s villain.
The Pearl Harbor actor might leave the project behind and might pass it to another director if it would not come as he expect it to be. Affleck has planned to direct the movie, write about the script and also star in the movie as Batman.
“That is the idea. But it is not a set thing and there is no script. If it does not come together in a way I think is really great, I am not going to do it,” Affleck said in an interview with The Guardian.
Batman solo movie update
The report suggested that the movie’s pre-production is underway and that they plan to film during the spring of this year. However, the script is still not ready.
The Town actor even shared that even his son is already a fan of the movie and the character saying, “Sam thinks his dad is Batman. That is an incredible feeling.”
To date, Ben Affleck is yet to confirm if he will push through in directing The Batman movie. Thus, readers are advised to take this with a grain of salt.
